Romain Wattel, Started playing golf as a ten year old when his parents bought a house near Bussy St George’s Golf Club in Paris. At 19 years old he won the European Challenge Tour when he captured the 2010 Allianz European Strasbourg- Golf de la Wantzenau, making him the fifth amateur to win the European Challenge Tour; finishing three strokes clear of the field. Before turning professional Wattel went on to win the Eisenhower Trophy as part of the French team, as well as finishing a very credible tied 32nd as an amateur in the Alstom Open de France. Moving on to professional status, he secured his first European Tour card after finishing in a share of ninth place at the Qualifying School.
Wattel, remains a member at Bussy St. Geroge’s Gold Club in Paris and has been mentored by US Open runner up Grégory Havret, who is also attached to the club.
Wattel turned professional in November 2010.
